Rainbow was first discovered by the Greek Philosopher Aristotle in 350 BC. His idea was taken up by Roman Philosopher Seneca the younger in his book 1 of Naturales Quaestiones in 65 AD.
In their study, two elements that are essential are water vapor and sunlight. Later Sir Issac Newton proved that white light is made up of a color spectrum splitting from the prism.
His discovery, with others who worked before him, prove and finally explained the reason for Rainbow forming.
It is Issac Newton who admires that the color and sequence of the color never changed and always run in the same order. He is the one who gave the color spectrum Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet.
